The Rivers of Steel Archives are open to the public for research by appointment, Monday–Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Research materials in the form of books, articles, audiovisual recordings, and archival material focus on the following topics:

  • The steel industry
  • Related industries (coal, coke, railroads, barges)
  • Labor/unions
  • Capital/industrialists
  • Ethnic and cultural groups in Southwestern Pennsylvania
