A fantastic new program for Junior Girl Scouts!
Girls will visit two great locations through this event: Rivers of Steel National Heritage Area and Silver Eye Center for Photography.
At Silver Eye, girls will learn how to capture the present through the lens of their camera, and work on the Camera Shots Junior Badge. While visting Rivers of Steel, girls will catch a glimpse of the past, earning the Folk Art Junior Badge.
$39 / No Adult Fee

Come to Rices Landing and take a walk back in time. Tours of the W.A. Young Foundry & Machine Shop and traditional blacksmith demonstrations throughout the day. Learn about the foundry and line belt driven machinery.
Auction of unique and special ironwork at 1:00 PM. Picnic lunch available.

In 1933, the administration of newly elected President Franklin Roosevelt launched an ambitious program to place murals and sculptures in post offices across the country. To coincide with the national 75th anniversary of the New Deal, The State Museum of Pennsylvania brings together these same artworks for the first time in this special exhibition to offer a common canvas of Pennsylvania that has faded from the landscape, but not from memory.

The Union Project presents a new addition to the weekly lineup of community classes - a partnership with Anjali Soi to host classes that teach the bhangra, traditional Indian folk dance. This energetic class will explore traditional bhangra steps as well as modern dance sequences to popular bhangra music and will offer a great aerobic workout. Anjali studied at Pittsburgh's Natyabharati School of Dance for many years and has performed with Penn State University's International Dance Ensemble.
Classes are every Tuesday from 7:00 - 8:00 PM, beginning February 23, 2010.
