The Obama Administration's proposed budget for FY 2010-2011 completely cuts funding for Preserve America, Save America's Treasures and 22 of the nation's National Heritage Areas! Rivers of Steel is one of those programs to be eliminated!
On Tuesday, June 15, 2010 the Alliance of National Heritage Areas will hold a rally in Washington, D.C. to emphasize the important role that heritage areas play in the growth of our country and to call attention to the many partners who are connected to the heritage areas with the same goals. The rally will also serve as the announcement of the newly formed Congressional Caucus followed by a press conference. Following the rally, we will meet with our Members of Congress personally.
We are asking you to help us ensure that Rivers of Steel is here for you for years to come. Let Congress know that now is not the time to cut back on programs that not only save America's heritage, but save America's jobs!
