Ryan Henderson

Interpretive Specialist & Grant Writer

Ryan has been a native of southwestern Pennsylvania his entire life. He moved to Pittsburgh to attend the University of Pittsburgh and later earned a Masters in Public History at Duquesne University. While finishing school in 2015, Ryan began working for Rivers of Steel as a part-time site manager and tour guide at the Carrie Blast Furnaces. He has since become an interpretive specialist and grant writer for the organization. In addition to writing grants and helping administer the Mini-Grants program, Ryan has managed events and operations at Carrie, worked extensively in the Archives, designed exhibits for the Bost Building, prepared interpretive information for the public, and contributed to numerous other projects at Rivers of Steel’s various sites.
