Pittsburgh’s Day of Giving

Today, October 28, 2009 has proven to be a remarkable day in the history of philanthropic giving in southwestern Pennsylvania.  On behalf of the board and staff of SIHC, please accept my sincere thanks to each of you who donated to Steel Industry Heritage Corporation through the Pittsburgh Gives web site.  Your gift is especially appreciated knowing there are many other worthy organizations to whom you could contribute.  I am grateful to you for your support and for your continued confidence in our mission and work.  In addition, I know you will share with me your appreciation and thanks to The Pittsburgh Foundation for making possible this incredible opportunity of giving.
 
Lastly, and as a result of this overwhelming show of public support of giving, I know many of you were unable to access the site, due to the high volume of internet traffic to the web site.  I very much appreciate your efforts this morning, and I hope that if you still wish to donate to SIHC you can do so by downloading the donation form. Your gift will not be matched, however it will be as appreciated and be used to conserve the rich industrial heritage of southwestern Pennsylvania.
